Healthy Snacks E-book GIVEAWAY!

And the WINNER IS....
Doodlebug's Mommy!!!
Thanks to everyone, and don't forget to check out Katie's site and get your own copy

A couple months ago, Katie at Kitchen Stewardship, introduced her E-book "Heathy Snacks to Go". I read a couple early versions and throughly enjoyed the recipes and snack ideas. Katie has offered to giveaway a free copy to someone this week!

This is a great book for finding some snack recipes beyond Cheerios and Goldfish! Yes, some of them are a little time consuming BUT once they are made, you have easy snacks on hand to grab for the park, car or late afternoon pick-me-up.

I made the wheat crackers a while back and shared that recipe with you there. And since the book came out we have enjoyed numerous versions of the granola bars. Soaked, unsoaked, baked and unbaked...... my favorites are the ones I have added mini dark chocolate chips to! The peanut butter kisses are one of our favorites too, and it's a really easy recipe to mix up quickly.

This book would be a great addition to any kitchen, but especially for those of you starting to think about school lunches or who pack lunches for their husbands, the $6.95 for this e-book is a great value.
You can take a peek at the table of contents HERE.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this post sharing YOUR favorite snack to make.
And don't forget to leave me a good email address to contact you at if you win!

  1. Ok. since you asked - not healthy but my favorite to make is chocolate chip cookies. I also enjoy a good granola bar recipe though that is healthy. I got my granola bar recipe from Lorri Flem at Teach Magazine's site. Loaded with goodness. Would love to see your recipe though! Dawn mrsgshaver@aol.com

  2. Hi there... I got this recipe from a gal at church who got it from someplace else.
    1 c. PB
    1 c. honey
    3 c. oats
    1/2 c. flaxseed (I use ground)
    1 c. mini chocolate chips
1 c. total of nuts/seeds/raisins/chopped dried fruit (your choice)
Mix all together in a bowl.
Roll into balls about golf ball size.
Place onto wax paper and refrigerate.
Once they harden a bit, I just store them in a Ziploc bag. Easy and on-the-go!

  3. my favorite snack to make is...oh dear, all of them. oatmeal raisin cookies, or muffins or the occasional granola bar! recently my sil told me to melt some dark chocolate chips, combine with nits and shredded coconut and freeze for 30 minutes. I really like that snack!

  4. I'd love to try the Larabar recipes.

  5. My favorite snack to make is pumpkin muffins I learned from Katie's site. I use all sorts of squash purees in that recipe.

  6. I like making chocolate chip cookies!

  7. I would like to try the peanut butter kisses! My hubby loves peanut butter, so I'm sure he'd like these.
